shawdesh Desk: President M Abdul Hamid arrived in London for health checkup and eye treatment on Saturday afternoon local time.
Ashequn Nabi Chowdhury, press minister of Bangladesh High Commission in London, confirmed the news to BSS saying, ‘A VVIP flight BG-001 of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited carrying the president arrived at Heathrow International Airport, London around 3:36pm London time on Saturday.’
Abdul Hamid was received by Bangladesh high commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem at the airport while he was scheduled to have his checkup at Moorfields Eye Hospital and Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London.
The president is expected to return home on September 8, president’s deputy press secretary Abul Kalam Azad said.
75-year-old Abdul Hamid earlier underwent health checkup there on May 2019.
He has been suffering from Glaucoma since long.
He used to have his health checkup in London while he was the speaker in the Jatiya Sangsad.
